Probably a FAQ thread.

Oh so I was going to start RPing and theeeeeeen, I was like "I still don't know about this and that even if I go on the [livejournal.com profile] united_mods place ksadjlkadj"

So here is my first question.

I know there is a Pokemon encounter chart and all, but uh, "How exactly do the characters get the Pokemon? I'm sure it has to be an actual post but like can I make like, my intro post, and then string along more posts about my character finding a Pokemon, battling it, and then capturing it? Or must I do something else?"

So, uh, that's probably it for now. Thanks~

I am not a mod, and I am pretty new to this kind of RPing, but here's how I understand it: not everything your character does has to be documented. If you say that your character caught a Patrat on Route 1 and trained it to level 8 or whatever, there's no reason for anyone to doubt that.

You can make a post about it if you want! But the game is more about interacting with other players than documenting everything your character does. If you make a post about your character doing something in a location where no one else is, you probably won't get any replies. I could probably provide you with a list of where each character is off the top of my head, because I am insane and have read every single comment on this community (LOL IT'S TRUE THOUGH) -- These are your best options, I think:
Have your character go to Nimbasa straight from the Entralink.
Have your character arrive at Accumula, having already traveled through Nuvema and Route 1 (undocumented, your character could have caught Pokemon on the way/trained them) (A lot of characters are at Accumula or will be there soon)

Going to Route 1 specifically might be difficult because the characters on it are in travelling groups all ready and realistically probably wouldn't split up to talk to your character.

YOUR OTHER OPTION is to make a Video or Audio post using the Xtransceiver, which anyone can reply to because every character has one and can use it no matter where they are.

ALSO I MAY BE WRONG ABOUT A LOT OF THIS SO someone correct me if I am wrong, lol.

Oh dear, I'm sorry if we're not clear enough about that oh geez...

Well, obtaining Pokemon is easy enough! You decide when, if, and how your character catches it, and they can do so any way you'd like, really! (As long as it makes sense, of course, with the corresponding catching charts. You can't just go and catch legendary Pokemon, and higher-leveled Pokemon will be more difficult to subdue enough for capture, etc.) You don't even really have to make an in character post about it if you don't want to (for example, I had N encounter his Zigzagoon off-screen and didn't make a post about it, but I did update the Pokemon Info post on his journal, as you should always do when there are new Pokemon added to a team). It is also probably noteworthy that you don't necessarily have to have your character catch a Pokemon-- they can also befriend it, or have it befriend them. Take N for instance-- he can speak to Pokemon, and the idea of catching them still makes him uncomfortable. So any Pokemon he "catches" won't always involve battling. His Zigzagoon actually followed him, and he caught it on accident.

But if you'd like to make a post about your character catching/encountering a Pokemon, you can either A) make an Action post for characters in the area to respond to, or B) make a Video or Audio post for other characters anywhere to respond to (these are posts created by the Xtransceiver, so they are recordings other characters will see but derp you probably already read that okay).

What would be best for you to do is to yes, make that intro post (I would recommend a Video or Audio post, seeing as characters are kind of scattered right now, and you want to reach as many characters as possible with most posts you make in the community), likely detailing Estellise's reactions to being thrown into this new world, maybe questioning the technology and asking other characters about where she is, and so on. Some time after that, you can make a post about her catching her first Pokemon, if you'd like (this can be before, during, or after a capture). Or you can skip out on that, and simply update her Pokemon Info page, and just say she caught it off-screen. Whichever you'd prefer! Huzzah!

I really hope this makes sense fffffff. I'm not so good with the word things. If you have any more questions, don't be afraid to ask!
