EVENT POST - Let There Be DARKNESS!

 What a fun few weeks these have been! Perhaps you enjoyed the contests while they were on (disclaimer: they're technically still on, but are now considered 'back dated'). Or perhaps you've been working away at getting badges, traveling...

It ends now.

Without warning the lights in the area snap off in the middle of the night, all at once, and all over Unova. Those talking on their transceivers find that the feed cuts short, and it's suddenly impossible to do so much as pull up the loading screen, or even to turn it off!

The entirety of Unova has suffered a power-out.

And not even the Entralink functions properly now.

Fear not, if you're stuck anywhere though- Iris and her pokemon are willing to fly you about in this time of need; but for now, keep your friends close...

You don't have a way to call them any more, after all.

How long is this event lasting? And are you gonna add more to it later?

The blackout lasts until the end of October; as to information on the blackout, no one in Unova knows what's going on.

The event, basically, is just that all the power is out, all of it; and now all the people have to deal with it.

Do battery operated things like flashlights still work? Not that either of my characters have those. Just curious.

And this makes me wonder just how much light a Rapidash might give off...

An interesting question, and I'm going to say 'yes'. If only because I'm sure that Pokecenters have backup generators or something, otherwise everyone would be dying fainting in the streets...

So there you go! Charged batteries will still function!

As for Rapidash, think the same as a burning campfire, or a bonfire; it's a warm sort of light, but probably won't illuminate much beyond a few meters.

I have a question now, in regards to Pokemon. This is mostly out of curiosity rather than use, but what about Flash? It's been known to light areas in the games, so...

I'm going to say that much like how it looks without Flash in caves, using flash out in the field results in illumination around the trainer for a few feet; careful not to exhaust any pokemon though!

What about new entries? I'm working on the introduction post... if the extralink doesn't work well does it mean they're stuck without links to reach Nuvema Town (Aka, Leanne and Jehanne wondering what's going on maybe without any kind of information from the real world?)? WIll they pop somewhere random even if they don't have badges?

As a matter of fact no! First, the Entralink Man lives there, and he tends to be rather thorough about giving the new folk some information... If anything the lack of portal enforces that.

Second, one of the players, Iris, is flying people around in the absence of teleports; this doesn't have to be threaded either, so you can handwave being flown to Nuvema or Nimbasa!

Woah, I wasn't expecting such a fast answer ♥ I was wondering how messy things were in the Extralink *coughs* Aaand, it means Jehanne probably already got many informations, that's good.

I read about Iris, still I didn't know how the communications between places was so I didn't know if, being communications KO, she was able to fly around everyone or not.
